Working out 3 or 4 times a week is not how to get muscles fast. Too many people do do many weight lifting workouts each week, and this actually prevents them from gaining muscle.

The biggest factor that people need to understand is that the actual training only paves the path for muscle growth to occur. Muscle will only grow if it is given plenty of good calories and plenty of rest.

If you go back into the gym too soon, then the chances are that your muscles have not had the time to recover and grow from the previous weight training workout. This means that you will be working muscles which are still in a weakened state.

This will result in not only your muscles not growing, but you will end up losing what little muscle mass that you may have because your body will not be able to handle the extra stress.

Knowing how to rest after workouts is just as important as knowing how to get muscles fast.

You will probably have read that you need to have a day’s rest between each muscle building workout. The usual advice is that you should train Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, with the weekends off.

This is fine if you are training with little intensity. The problem is that if you do not train with real intensity, you will not build any real muscle. Look at all the people that you know who have been training for a while, how many of them have made dramatic gains?

The chances are that very few of them will have made any noticeable gains. You, me, and most other people have limited physical resources to train, and require a certain amount of recovery periods. We are not blessed with the genetics of the pro bodybuilders which you see on magazine covers.

This means that it is suicide for a normal person to try and do the same muscle building workouts as they do.

It takes us normal people more time to recover, and unless you give your body this time, you will never gain the muscles that you want.

When you train, you need to train with intensity. Put real effort into it. Once you are done have a minimum of 2 days of before the next workout. Three days would be even better. This gives your body the time to recover and replenish everything that you will have lost during your training.

Make sure that you get as much rest as possible during your non weight training days, make sure that you eat a lot of health calories, and try to relax as much as you can. This is how to get muscle fast.
